Screen-Cut permits screen capture of any size/portion of the screen displayed in front of you content from the web, Windows error, images or photograph. Anything being displayed onto your screen can be captured and saved as a separate image in a specified format.
Pros: Screen-Cut permits screen capture of any size/portion of the screen displayed in front of you. Whether content from the web, Windows error, images or photograph. Anything being displayed onto your screen can be captured and tailored. There’s a lot of flexibility in the way a capture area that can be specified. Choose a polygon, an oval, a rectangle or an irregular hand drawn fence around the area of interest. The cutting tool color and size also could be specified. Functionality is a very good fit for communicating by marking up documents be it for QA purposes or for project documentation or whatever.
Watermarking of the image captured is a nice feature. You can choose a number of locations for placing the watermark or you could have it all over the image. You could choose the text to be place as watermark from a list of standard texts. Or choose to have a specific text typed in. Text font and size can be specified too as could be the transparency of the text string. There’s a provision for a signature/stamp box too.
The user interface is really simple. It is a floating toolbar kind of arrangement that lets you specify the cutting tool shape that is needed; whether rectangular, elliptic, polygon or freehand fence. Specify watermark and it is all set.
Cons: There’s no image editing facilities. Some rudimentary facilities would have been very useful, particularly the contrast, brightness and color adjustments provided in even the simplest of editors.
Overall: This is a well designed application with flexible capture features. The application is rated for 3 stars.
